What is a Work Permit?
A Work Permit is an official authorization that allows employees or contractors to perform specific tasks that may involve safety risks. It ensures that hazards are identified, controls are implemented, and work is carried out safely.
Why is a Work Permit required?
Work Permits help:
- Protect personnel from workplace hazards.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations.
- Verify that necessary precautions are in place before work begins.
- Reduce the risk of accidents, injuries, and equipment damage.
What types of work require a permit?
Common permit categories include:
- Hot Work (welding, cutting, grinding)
- Electrical Work
- Work at Height
- Confined Space Entry
- Excavation Work
- Lifting Operations
- Line Breaking / Isolation Work
- High-Risk Maintenance Activities
How do I apply and configure a Work Permit in FacTech?
- Log in to the FacTech platform.
- Navigate to the Work Permit module.
- Click on the Work Permit to raise Work Permit.
- Go to the settings on the left Panel to configure the Approval Flow and Work Permit Type.
- Click on the Work Permit Type to add or remove work permit type.
- Click on the Approval Flow to configure the approvals.
- Then click on the + button to add the approval flow and add the flow.
- Then click on the Add Level button to add approver in the approval flow that you’ve created.
- Now add levels and approvers as per your admin list.
- You can add multiple levels as per your requirements.
- Click on Raise Work Permit to create a new permit request.
- Complete all required details.
- Submit the permit for review and approval.
- Get Approval by sending the request.
