How to change asset category/location
Factech allows authorized users to update an asset’s category and/or location using the Export–Update–Import process.
Steps to Change Asset Category or Location
1.Log in to Factech using a user account that has update permission.
2.Navigate to Asset / PPM Module
3.Export the list of all assets to Excel.
4.In the exported file, you will see existing columns for Category and Location.
5.Add a new column named Updated Category and/or Updated Location. Enter the new category or location values only for the assets you want to update. “Delete those rows (do not modify unchanged assets)”. And save the excel sheet.
6.Go to Import Asset →>> Choose exported excel file>>Update Existing>>In the dropdown select uuid>>Match the Excel fields with the system fields>>Upload on the top right side corner.
Once the import is completed successfully, the asset category and/or location will be updated in the system.
